As a result of the analyzes carried out using selected statistical interpolation methods and selected atmospheric deposition indicators, the kriging method was selected, which will enable obtaining the spatial distribution of deposition in Poland – also in regions (areas) where measurements are missing. This is also the method used in Norway. In order to improve the accuracy of the obtained interpolation results, additional data will be used – the amount of precipitation and the cokriging method used. Maps of the spatial distribution of atmospheric deposition were made in a grid with a resolution of 10 x 10 km.

The guidelines and the selected statistical interpolation method enable the preparation of annual reports on the assessment of atmospheric deposition along with the ability to track trends and changes over long periods of time. The established coherent national deposition assessment system responds to current national and international needs in this area.

Guidelines for assessing atmospheric deposition using the kriging method will be used for the first time for the annual assessment of atmospheric deposition for 2024.

In the future, it is planned to test mathematical modeling methods to obtain spatial distributions of atmospheric deposition in Poland.
