Main Inspectorate of Environmental Protection commits to ensuring the accessibility of its mobile application in accordance with the Act of April 4, 2019, on the digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities.

The accessibility declaration applies to the Air Quality in Poland application for iOS (version 1.3).

Digital Accessibility Status

The mobile application is partially compliant with the annex to the Digital Accessibility Act of April 4, 2019, regarding the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities, due to the incompatibilities or exclusions listed below.

Non-compliance with the Annex

  1. Some label components and navigation elements may cause difficulties for users of screen readers.
  2. Unclear screen reader focus order: On some screens, the screen reader focus is set illogically, which may cause difficulties in understanding and smooth use of the app for screen reader users.
  3. App interface elements not supported by standard screen reader navigation gestures: Some interface elements do not respond to standard navigation gestures, which may affect the smoothness and intuitiveness of using the app.

Everyone has the right to request digital accessibility of this mobile application or its elements. When submitting such a request, please provide:

  • your full name,
  • your contact details (e.g., phone number, email),
  • an exact description of the digitally inaccessible element or content,
  • a description of the problem and the most convenient solution for you.

We will respond to your request as soon as possible, no later than 7 days from its receipt.

If this deadline is too short, we will inform you and provide a new deadline, within which we will resolve the reported issues or provide alternative information. This new deadline will not exceed 2 months.

If we are unable to ensure the digital accessibility of the mobile application or content indicated in your request, we will offer you an alternative way to access it.


Handling Requests and Complaints Related to Accessibility

If we refuse to ensure the requested digital accessibility, and you disagree with this refusal, you have the right to file a complaint.

You also have the right to file a complaint if you disagree with the alternative access method we propose in response to your request for digital accessibility.

Architectural Accessibility

Headquarters address: Main Inspectorate of Environmental Protection, Bitwy Warszawskiej 1920 r. 3, 02-362 Warsaw.

The building is located in the city center, in the Ochota district, between Bitwy Warszawskiej 1920 r. and Białobrzeska streets.

The GIOŚ headquarters can be reached by public transport, with buses numbered 136, 154, 167, 172, 186, 208, 414, 521 and trams numbered 1, 7, 9, 14, 15, 25. You should get off at the "Bitwy Warszawskiej" stop.

The main entrance to the GIOŚ headquarters is located on Bitwy Warszawskiej 1920 r. The premises can also be accessed via the gate from Białobrzeska street after prior notification.

There are public parking spaces available in front of the main entrance. The name of the institution (Main Inspectorate of Environmental Protection) is displayed above the main entrance. The GIOŚ building is not adapted for wheelchair users.

In the main hall, on the left side, there is a security point. Every visitor and guest is registered in the entry/exit log. They are escorted to the meeting location by the person they are meeting with.

You can enter the GIOŚ building with a service dog or guide dog. The building does not have an induction loop or devices that assist blind or visually impaired people. Additionally, there are no Braille signs in the building. The corridors and elevators are adapted for people with disabilities (buttons in elevators are labeled in Braille). The elevators have a voice system that informs users about the elevator's location and stops on specific floors.

The building is guarded 24/7.


Communication and Information Accessibility

To use the services of a sign language interpreter or a guide-interpreter when dealing with matters at the office, you must notify the office at least 3 business days in advance, except in emergency situations.

The request should also include information about the preferred communication method (PJM, SJM, SKOGN) and a brief description of the matter the meeting will be about.

The interpreter service for people with disabilities, as defined by the Act of August 27, 1997, on vocational and social rehabilitation and employment of persons with disabilities (Journal of Laws 1997 No. 123, item 776), is free of charge.
